We secured funding to deliver an employability programme called ‘Supporting Deaf Young People into Employment’ from the European Social Fund, the Department for Economy and the Department for Communities. This project is aimed at 16-30 year olds. We have a variety of opportunities available such as; job club, mentoring, Essential Skills L1&2 (Numeracy and Literacy), OCN Qualifications and ECDL training.

Our employability programme is delivered across Northern Ireland. We work closely with colleges, schools and youth organisations in order to promote our services. If you are a deaf young person looking for support in finding a job or to receive training, do get in touch with us. Our email address is employability@actiondeafyouth.org.

This programme helps to reduce unemployment and economic inactivity among hard to reach deaf young people who suffer from social exclusion, no qualifications and have disengaged from mainstream education and training (NEETs).
